Image copyright problem with Image:Attilio_Lombardo_3.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Attilio_Lombardo_3.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me or ask for help at Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. Thank you. -- Carnildo 07:22, 6 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Request for edit summary[edit]

Hi. I am a bot, and I am writing to you with a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries a bit more often when you contribute. The reason an edit summary is important is because it allows your fellow contributors to understand what you changed; you can think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. For your information, your current edit summary usage is 0% for major edits and 0% for minor edits. (Based on the last 150 major and 3 minor edits in the article namespace.)

This is just a suggestion, and I hope that I did not appear impolite. You do not need to reply to this message, but if you would like to give me feedback, you can do so at the feedback page. Thank you, and happy edits, Mathbot 04:00, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

pcupdate[edit]

Hi, I just thought I should remind you to update the pcupdate section of the infobox if you update the player's stats. You didn't do this for Mark Kennedy (footballer). Laters!  sʟυмɢυм • т  c  22:16, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Peter Simpson[edit]

Hi - I saw your move of Peter Simpson - I was thinking, as the Arsenal Peter Simpson played as a defender (mainly, at least, that was what he was known for) and the Crystal Palace Peter Simpson played as a forward/striker, perhaps it would be better to differentiate them as Peter Simpson (defender) and Peter Simpson (striker) - similar to e.g. Paul Robinson (goalkeeper) and Paul Robinson (defender). I think that would be neater and more understandable than the current article titles. Let me know what you think, cheers. Qwghlm 03:20, 24 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think position rather than era is a better and clearer way. First it makes the titles shorter (which is encouraged in the Manual of Style). Also, when disambiguating by era there are lots of different ways of expressing the title - e.g. Peter Simpson (1920s-30s footballer), Peter Simpson (20s-30s footballer), Peter Simpson (1920s and 1930s footballer) - it makes the article title annoyingly hard to remember when wikilinking.
There are two alternatives; the Arsenal player's middle name is Frederick, so the title for him could be Peter F. Simpson, and if the Palace player had a middle name too (I'm not sure) then they could disambiguated like that (like Gary A. Stevens and Alan M. Smith are distinguished from their namesakes). Alternatively, as Palace's Simpson was Scottish (according to this list of Hammers players and the search form at allfootballers.com he was born in Leith, Edinburgh) they could be classed by nationality as Peter Simpson (Scottish footballer) and Peter Simpson (English footballer). I still strongly prefer to mark them by position - it's the shortest and most obvious way, but I'm happy consider alternatives. Qwghlm 19:08, 25 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
OK, thanks for being so understanding. I have performed the move and have corrected any necessary wikilinks (escluding those in the User namespace, which I leave alone as a rule). Thanks once again. Qwghlm 23:08, 25 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

1 December[edit]

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to Chris Armstrong (footballer born 1971). Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. If it is a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalised, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. The JPStalk to me 22:45, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Victor Moses[edit]

An editor has nominated Victor Moses, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/David Pilgrim and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. Carlin DPR[edit]

Since the Carlin DPR joint venture fell through, would you agree that this article can probably be deleted, as the very brief existence of such an organisation is not notable? If so, as the main author of the article you could request a speedy delete. If you disagree, let me know and I'll try and get a wider debate going. Cheers. 4u1e 09:11, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Julián Speroni goal kick v Watford 2008.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sdrtirs (talk) 04:30, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Crystal Palace FC USA.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Crystal Palace FC USA.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 09:40, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Hello ChristalPalace! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 5 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 903 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Mark Goldberg - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Paul Hinshelwood - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Steve Parish (businessman). The community has decided that all new biographies of living persons must contain a reliable source that supports at least one statement made about the person in the article as per our verifiability policy. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:10, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Martin Long (businessman) has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Notice

The article Bob Dowie has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

not clear why he is notable. Hasn't played for or managed a fully professional club. WP:NFOOTY.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Dave Price Racing requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
